Lanzarote: Guided Volcano Hike with Transfers

About This Experience
The cheapest genuine volcano walk on the island, and one of the best rated. Blackstone Treks & Tours run a half-day trek through the Volcanes Natural Park that finishes on top of a cone, with the whole sea of hardened lava laid out below.
The route crosses the flow field left by the 1730–36 eruption — the longest eruption ever recorded in the Canary Islands, and the one that buried roughly a quarter of Lanzarote — before climbing a cinder slope to the summit. From there the guide walks you through how the island rebuilt itself: which cones came first, where the lava went, and why anything grows here at all.
Pickup and drop-off are included rather than optional, and so are water and a fruit-and-biscuit stop. It is three and a half to four hours of real walking on loose ground, and the operator is direct that it is not for everyone.

What Travelers Say
Rated 4.9/5 by 941 verified GetYourGuide travelers.
A hiking tour that is suitable for everyone, even the little ones. There's nothing to complain about regarding the guide, Eden, who is very friendly and shares his knowledge with us. The hiking tour only lasts 2 hours (it said 4 hours). We thought we would push ourselves a little more to reach the summit of several volcanoes or a large volcano, but we only reached one volcano in the chain of volcanoes, which is very accessible even on your own. A little disappointed for the price.

A magical landscape, easy and punctual pickup, a small group, an easy walk that was long enough to enjoy the places, and above all, a passionate and engaging live guide (Raquel).

CLAUDIA was an exceptional guide. Fun, attentive, and engaging. It was truly an incredible experience

Frequently Asked Questions
Is hotel pickup really included?
Yes. Unlike most walks on the island, transfers are part of the standard price rather than a paid option. The meeting point, if you drive yourself, is a free roadside parking area marked by small palm trees.
Do we actually climb a volcano?
Yes. The route crosses the lava field and then goes up a cinder cone to the top, which is where the panorama over the flow field opens up. It is a walk, not a scramble, but the slope is loose.
How long and how hard is it?
Three and a half to four hours. The operator explicitly rules it out for anyone with heart problems, mobility limits or low fitness — take that at face value rather than as boilerplate.
Is food included?
Water and a snack of fruit, dried fruit and biscuits are included. Meals and other drinks are not, so bring more if you want it.
